Huge congratulations to CPAR Malawi's Project Manager, Dr. Olivia Kachuma, who has just graduated from Mzuzu University with a PhD in Philosophy and Sanitation!
After an intensive two-year program building on her Master’s degree and extensive practical experience, Olivia is now officially a Doctor of Philosophy in Water and Sanitation. Her research has made groundbreaking strides in public health and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene).
Her fascinating thesis focused on how primary schools can enhance handwashing and WASH practices through effective communication. Olivia's findings highlight that visual aids, like informative posters, are far more effective in teaching students about proper handwashing than verbal instructions alone.
Her dedication to improving public health and access to sanitation is truly inspiring. Here’s to many more innovations and successes in her future endeavors!
