Resources

Tools for Learning are free, downloadable resources for Canadian high school teachers that bring global development issues into the classroom using integrated, teacher-friendly lessons. Each curriculum-based unit includes: lesson plans, case studies, homework exercises, assessment rubric and an introductory Powerpoint presentation. Each unit is tied to Canadian provincial curriculum expectations, and comes complete with the following:

  • Lesson Plans
  • Detailed Teaching Notes
  • Introductory Powerpoint presentation
  • Homework Exercises
  • Case Studies and accompanying images
  • Culminating Assignment
  • Assessment Rubric

Tools for Learning units aim to increase interest amongst high school students in global development issues by creating linkages with course material and introducing students to the real people and communities who are affected by the issues – using examples and stories “from the field” in eastern and southern Africa.
